Canvas + file is locked + students cant download
· If you select this option, students can view the file in Course Files as well as other areas of Canvas where the file has been added. If students attempt to access the file outside the availability dates, the file will be locked. Even though all of the students in this screenshot turned in the Walking Lab (and I see their work in Google Assignments), only 7 of the students show the "Submitted" icon in Canvas. It seems strange that Canvas can recognize when some of the students turn in the assignment, but not when others turn it in. If you want to restrict students' access to files contained in a module, you can lock the module and then set a date and time at which it will automatically unlock. So long as the module is locked, students cannot access any items in it. See Canvas' documentation on locking modules for detailed information.
After a Canvas course's term has ended, the course becomes read-only for enrolled students. Instructors can no longer add or remove members using the People tool, send messages to students in the course, or edit course content.
